Windows 10: Windows Update Manager

Recently, I had been in a dilemma of whether or not to upgrade to Windows 11 or not. When I finally decided to stay on Windows 10 , it was late. I had already allowed to start the Windows 11 download. Now there were two problems , :-1. How to stop the ongoing update?The safest way to do this was through services.msc and stopping Windows Update, as all other methods involved editing the registry and restricting many future updates for Windows 10 and re-editing the registry to make things work again & again and time-to-time.I went with the safer one but this is where the second problem emerg

Vista Pre-SP1 vs. Vista SP1

I've been Windows Updating for two straight days and I finally saw SP1. If you want to troubleshoot it, follow these steps:

• Show hidden updates
• Manually install any failed updates (google the KB_____ and install from the windows site)
• Make sure everything in Device Manager is good to go

I had to do step two for like 4 or 5 updates to be able to see SP1.

Any other benchmarks you guys want to see? I might try PCMark05 (I think it works on Vista).

 

Windows Update Manager not updating

Available updates:
· 2021-03 Cumulative Update for Win 10 ver. 20H2 (K8500080) Status: Down loading – 0 %
· 2021-01 Update for Windows 10 ver. 20H2 (KB4023057) Statue: Pending install

If you were in this situation, what would you do to get the Update Manager to make these updates?

• There is 43.8 GB available disk space.
• Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool completed successfully
• Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

What do you think is the cause of the problem?
What steps should be taken to solve the problem?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
