Windows 10: Windows Update not working

HI,

Been having this problem for a while, But as the subject suggests, Windows 10 does not seem to be updating itself. I always get errors when i retry as well. I did click on the get help button on the windows update settings page. However, the suggestions it provides do not seem to be working as well.

I then proceeded to launch command prompt in administrator in type in the commands. It didn't work

The sfc/scannow option didn't really do anything either.

I was then recommended by the 'get help' to download 'reset windows update agent' and to see if i could install windows updates then.

Therefore, I hope i can get some help with my issue and resolve it soon. I don't windows has been updated since October of this past year. Weirdly, I have also noticed, When i right click on a file and select properties, nothing happens as well. Don't know if it's related. Apart from these, Windows seems to be functioning completely fine. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
