Windows 10: Windows Update paused

Discus and support Windows Update paused in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I allowed the most recent update to be installed on my computer at the end of May.     Windows Update paused


    I allowed the most recent update to be installed on my computer at the end of May. Immediately, the computer began freezing a minimum 3 times per day. I worked out how to remove that update and the problem was solved. Unfortunately, I can only pause the update from being installed again. "Temporarily pause updates from being installed on this device for up to 35 days. When undates resume, this device will need to get the latest updates before it can be paused again."


    How can I prevent this update from being installed indefinitely? It would be ludicrous to allow it to be installed and then have to remove it again and then pause for another 35 days. It would be my own personal "Groundhog Day."


    Please help me with this problem.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
