Windows 10: Windows Update Popup

Can someone help me on how to disable the windows update popup? possibly using a registry key value?


we tried setting up the value here as HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\UpdateNotificationLevel 2 but still the pop ups happen to appear again.


Any help is much appreciated!

I would give the other 3 options mentioned in the first guide:

• STEP 3: Use HitmanPro to scan for malware and unwanted programs
• (Optional) STEP 4: Reset the browser settings to their original defaults
• (Optional) STEP 5: Double-check for malicious programs with Zemana AntiMalware

And I would start with Step 4, resetting your browser

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
