Windows 10: windows update problems

hi windows updates fail to install, then successfully install. i did suggestions on this forum, still not successful. i haven't installed 1703 yet. i might be taking this problem with me. appreciate any suggestions.

start menu stopped working

Cannot get start menu to pop up. Worked till yesterday, now won't. Turned off computer and back on - still won't work

 

Windows update_1900101 Windows 10

I haven't been able to install Windows 10 due to the following error: C1900101-20017. Any idea what this is and does it mean I'm out of luck?

You say you "did suggestions on this forum" but didn't specify what suggestions you tried. Have you tried resetting WU?

yes i ran sfc and several dism comands and troubleshooter many times. i will look at the reset windows upate file. thank you

crypto service failed to stop

 

i stopped the crypto service and tried running the reset program again with no success. so i scheduled a call with microsoft . she tried to fix it with no luck. so she installed the creator update 1703. i let it install some updates and it just carried the problem with it. still failing to install and then successfully installing. i don't know what else to do. if i do a clean install, will this fix the problem? thank you

hi yesterday i did a clean install of 1703. it works fine, but windows update is still a problem. now it is saying {updates are available downloading updates 0%}.Windows 10 Help Forums it is stuck there. here is results of windows update log.

Have you done anything to restrict or inhibit Windows update? E.g. set your connection as metered?

Have you changed any settings after clean installing or installed any other programs? (Clearly from your desktop, you have).

Is your internet connection reliable, and decent bandwidth?

Is your disk ok - download and install Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) and post its GUI.

But it's also a question of just what is being updated- I can't tell.

hi this is a clean install of 1703. the only change is unchecking programs in start menu. it is still downloading at 0%. i ran troubleshooter. internet service is good 16gb. i scheduled a call with microsoft tech yesterday. he modified my admin rites, so i can delete programs in software distribution. it was working ok then. thank you

 

this is where it is. with a clean install this should not be happening. would a third party windows update program work?
