Windows update prompt wong go away

I have had a problem with 19028.1 since it installed, after a succesfull update a restart prompted me to install pending updates even tho I have already installed and am running 19028. I have tried upps to install 28 and 19030.1 both install fine but the prompt to install 19028.1 will not go away and I cannot check for updates. I have tried to unistall previous updates but there is nothing there. I have tried disk cleanup and the .bat on this site. I have also tried rolling back an update. Nothing is working to get rid of the prompt.

  3. Upgraded Window 10 but did not work

    Hi Wong,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Appreciate your interest in using Windows 10.

The issue may be because the Display drivers are not updated. I suggest you to update the Display drivers by following the steps below.

    • Remove all non-essential hardware devices.
    • Start your computer and check if the Desktop pops up.
    • Press windows key + R, type “devmgmt.msc” and press enter.
    • Expand Display drivers.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update and follow the prompts for updating the Display drivers.

Hope the information is helpful. Feel free to

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Windows update prompt wong go away :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
