Windows 10: Windows Update slowing my PC

Hi there


I have been having an issue since a Windows Update was initiated on my HP Laptop around the 13th August 2020. It has been significantly slower when trying to do anything on my laptop PC after this update. Most of the time I would only have 2 or 3 applications open Chrome, Atom, Discord, cmd to run my local web development projects and these applications aren't heavy weight applications. I've done some tests to end some start up processes but my laptop is still very slow and I can't really do anything. At times having to wait 5 to 10 minutes for something to happen which is painful.


Urgent help is needed and will be appreciated to solve this issue.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
