Windows 10: Windows update to 1903 from 1803 fails at 60%

I've run the update twice, the second time using the media creation version (usb), with antivirus totally switched off. Both times it halted at 60% and told me it could not update a component. I can't see anything in the logs though I may be looking in the wrong place.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Updating from 1803 to 1903 failed

Hi,

I'm trying to apply 1903 update (from 1803) to my system and I'm getting this error:

0xC1900101 - 0x30018

The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE operation

At 60% of the updating progress this error appears:

"Windows could not configure one or more system components. To install windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation."

Tried Media Creation Tool and Windows Update Assistant and both failed with the same result.

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
