Windows 10: Windows update will not actually apply?

Discus and support Windows update will not actually apply? in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; I've been trying to run updates to v2004 on our network and some machines will go through the motions and actually show as complete and successful, but...     Windows update will not actually apply?


    I've been trying to run updates to v2004 on our network and some machines will go through the motions and actually show as complete and successful, but the update actually isn't applied. It's still on 1909.

    It's attempted over and over to no avail and I can not figure out why it's doing this.

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
