    Windows updated and reset all my personal setting on my computer


    on 8/19 my windows computer updated on it's own and when i opened my computer it was factory reset, didn't have any of my files, didn't save any of my personal preferences, said my windows account was "corrupted", and now factory resets like that every time that the computer shuts down or updates again. I have had this computer for 2 years and this has never happened and now I can't get it to go back to normal, what is going on?!?

    Settings/Personalization

    Hi,

    We suggest that you follow the steps below to put your settings back to default and see if it helps.

    • Right-click your mouse on your desktop.
    • Click on Personalize.
    • Select Colors.
    • Click on High contrast settings.
    • From the drop-down menu, select None.
    • Click Apply.
    • Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

    Let us know the result.

    Windows update issues

    It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.

    Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
