Windows 10: Windows Updates can't complete Error 0x800703e6

Hi there,The last time Windows Updates were able to successfully install was on ‎2/‎19/‎2021. Now, every time I try to run updates, I get this message almost immediately after telling it to update:There were problems downloading some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this, try searching the web or contacting support for help. This error code might help: 0x800703e6Are there any suggestions outside of Resetting the PC? I'm not really in the mood to reinstall all my programs today. :'Thanks,~Matt

Windows Update Error 0x800703e6

Here is what the error code means:

0x800703e6

Invalid access to memory location.

Step 1:

Press: Windows key

Type: disk cleanup

run disk cleanup as Administrator

scan C drive

select "Windows update cleanup" checkbox

Hit OK to clean up drive

reboot system

try to update again

Step 2:

If previous step doesn't work

Press: Windows key

type: Settings hit enter

type: Trouble

select: "Troubleshoot settings"

Scroll down, in the list click on
"Windows update"

Let troubleshooter try to solve the problem.

reboot system

Try to update again

Step 3:

If previous steps doesn't work

Browse code samples

Download the script by clicking on a script name button, save to C:\ drive root

Right click on start button

select Powershell (Administrator)

Copy/paste bellow code into the console:

Hit Enter and wait for operation to complete

reboot system

try update again.

Step 4:

If previous steps do not work:

visit bellow link and do one of the recovery options:

You are interested in following recovery options in this order:

1. Restore from a system restore point

2. Reset your PC

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Well, I will mention what appears to be happening. I do not have a fix but the comment in the Error message regarding access to memory is a little strange. Maybe this goes back to the TiWorker situation.

This error you can look at but I don't think it is causing the failure. Maybe Sumit will have some info.
