    Windows Upgrade failed Error Code"0x800f0904


    I did a clean re-installation of Windows 10 Home after changing partition tables. I have paid Microsoft for upgrade from Home to Pro. Now, after clean re-installation of Windows 10 Home, I tried upgrading. The option takes me to Microsoft Store and allows me to Install. But, I get error code 0x800f0904.

    Error code 0x800f0904 when upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Pro

    I purchased Windows 10 Pro to upgrade from the Home edition from the Microsoft Store. When my computer is preparing for the upgrade, at about 75% I get the the message Windows upgrade failed: Error code 0x800f0904.

    I have tried multiple times, restarted many times, made sure all upgrades were complete. My first attempts it errored at 10% and by the fourth attempt I got to about 75%.

    Unfortunately now my system settings tells me that Windows is not activated on my laptop and can't be activated.
