Windows 10: Windows version 1803 RSAT question

I have installed a LSI MEGARAID 6391-81 in my Lenovo P700 Workstation and am running a RAID 5 Array of three 10TB disks. I have isntalled the MegaRAID Storage Manager (rel 17.05.00.02) from AVAGO.

Trying to log into this software yields to an error. I see the IP of my system but can not log on this software.


Broadcom support stated:

"MegaRAID Storage Manager (MSM)" was designed to be used for older Controllers (till 6GB/s). It is recommended to use "LSI Storage Authority (LSA)" with 12GB/s controller and newer ones!

I am trying to set the LSA to see my controller but can not find anyting on the WEB to help.

Does somebody know how to set up the LSA on my Window10 version 1803. Or shall update to Version 1903 ? I need LSDAP.




By the way, I re-created laterly my system based on a CD with Version 1803.

RSAT unavailable in Windows 10 - 1803

October 2018 Update is 1809 not 1803. 1803 is the April 2018 Update.

You should install RSAT as outlined below. You will have to wait until 1809 is released in order to install it on-demand.

Those guides do not apply to 1803. You still need to install Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 before you can enable or disable RSAT tools.

Until 1809 the installation process for RSAT has remained unchanged on Windows 10 and is identical across all supported versions and editions of Windows 10.

IPAM Client not working in Windows 10 1709/1803 RSAT

From the Microsoft Download Center page for RSAT:

Issue: IPAM in Server Manager prompts to install even though IPAM is already installed

Impact: IPAM users on Windows 10 1803/1709 (April 2018 Update/Fall Creators Update)

Resolution: Use IPAM from an RSAT package installed on Windows 10 1607 (Anniversary Update) or 1703 (Creators Update)

My question to Microsoft: When will this be resolved? We have staff which regularly use IPAM in my organization and do not find a long-term solution in reverting System Administrator workstations which are using RSAT on Windows 10 1709 or 1803. This is an
issue reported on a release now 9-months out, and still without a fix. What is the long-term plan?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Have you find any better workarounds than suggested or solutions?

 

Can't Uninstall RSAT (KB2693643)


[table][tr][td][/td] [td]This is what worked for me. I couldn't view the "manage user" tab options in AD and RSAT was alltogether fubard. I tried to: Delete the registry keys and then remove the windows feature and rsat Remove via wusa Remove via DISM Remove via Programs and Features > Add/Remove Windows Features The only way I could remove KB2693643 and the RSAT windows features are as follows: 1. Open command prompt as administrator 2. run DISM /Online /Get-Packages 2a. Copy and paste the output into a txt document such as notepad 3. Run DISM /Online /Remove-Package /PackageName:<INSERTDATAHERE> In step 3 above, the <INSERTDATAHERE> should be the package name you copied from the Get-Packages list. You will need to run this each time, for each package that starts with "Microsoft-Windows-RemoteServerAdministrationTools...." So my step 3 looked like this: DISM /Online /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-RemoteServerAdministrationTools-Client-Package-TopLevel~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.10585.0 (selected "no" to restart) DISM /Online /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-RemoteServerAdministrationTools-Client-Package-TopLevel~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~*AnotherVersion* (selected "yes" to restart after this 2nd command)[/td] [/tr] [/table]
