Windows 10: windows video editor continually cannot export anything

I've started using microsoft photos' video editor for very simple video edits. I mean VERY simple. Rotating videos and adding one additional audio track. Despite this, I am constantly faced by an error when I click finish video.


It claims the "file is in use. try again later, or use a different file name. error code: 0x80070020". I have tried restarting the app, restarting the computer, and using a multitude of different file names. None of these work. Only once has it worked before, when I clicked "finish video" about 10 times prior.


This is very frustrating due to the simplicity of the task I need it to do. The files are mp4s and mp3s and should have no problems exporting.


None of the solutions I have found online including resetting the app have worked. I suspect it is a serious software flaw, but can anyone suggest a method of bypassing this?

Video Editor Export

Thank you for your feedback.

When using the video editor app, go to the upper right hand part of the window and click on "Finish Video", then click on Export to save it on your desired folder or location.

Once the export has been completed, it should automatically save as an .MP4 file.

You may verify it by doing a right click on the video and selecting properties. The type of file should be "MP4 File (.mp4)".

I suggest you to try with resetting Video Editor:

1. Press WINDOWS + I

2. Click on "App"

3. Digit "Video Editor" in the search bar on the right

4. Click on "Video Editor"

5. Click on "Advanced Option"

6. Scroll down to "Reset"

7. Click on "Reset"

Then retry creating the video and export It.

Video editor not exporting

Hiya,

I've recently made a mini movie using video editor. The program was fine and easy to use, however now that I'm finished and trying to export the video I'm having issues. The total video is 05:40 and when I export, it only actually exports the first 02:24
of the video.

If someone could please offer advice on how to fix this it would be great! I've sifted through hours of footage for this 5 minute video so I don't want to have to start again using another program.
