  1. Windows wanting to "control" my gmail account?

When trying to repair my gmail accounts attached to my Outlook why do I keep getting the window stating that Windows wants to "control, delete, basically take over" my accounts? If I say no, my email accounts stay out of date?

    :)

  2. When I try to login to my Hotmail account, my Gmail account comes up

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I can understand, how frustrating it can be, when things don’t work as expected.

I'd be glad to help you.

Please answer the query, mentioned below:

    • How do you access your Email account (Web browser or Email client)?

If you are using Mail app, I would suggest you to first check, if Hotmail account is configured on Mail app?

Try these steps below to configure Hotmail account on Mail app:

    • Type Mail App in the search bar on the desktop and click on
Add account in the Mail app Window.

    • Check for Hotmail account on Choose an account Window. If it is not available, go to
      Other account.

    • Add you Hotmail account Email address and
Password in the Other account Window and check, if it works.

If both Hotmail and Gmail account is configured on Mail app, you can switch between Gmail and Hotmail account on Mail app. By clicking on the respective account name on bottom left.

If you do not want to use Gmail account on Mail app, you can delete the Gmail account.

Try these steps below to delete the Gmail account on Mail app:

    • Type Mail App in the search bar on the desktop and click on
Add account in the Mail app Window.

    • Check for Gmail account on Choose an account
Window, then delete the Gmail account.
If you are using a web browser, I would suggest you to go to
https://www.mail.live.com and sign in using your Hotmail.com Email address.

Your reply is very important for us to ensure a proper resolution. Please get back to us with the updated information in order to assist you accordingly.

    Thank you.

  3. Gmail leaves your account open to spammers

A new flaw has been exposed in Google’s Gmail service which could allow hackers to get hold of your contacts. When you log into your Gmail (Googlemail in some countries) account, Google will put your details into a JavaScript file. Because of this, if you browse other websites whilst logged into your account, any of them could potentially declare the function “google” and be able to get hold of all of your contacts. The only two ways to ensure your privacy is safe are to disable JavaScript in all websites except those you trust or to not browse other sites whilst logged into any Google service. Admittedly Gmail is still only a beta, but a fault like this could be quite serious.

Update: Disabling JavaScript did not solve this problem, however it appears that Google has now fixed this issue and your contacts list should be safe.

Windows wanting to "control" my gmail account?

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Windows wanting to "control" my gmail account? :(
