Windows 10: Windows will not auto reconnect to known WiFi on boot

I sometimes experience the same problem: Wifi wouldn't reconnect to the home wifi (and I didn't even restart it or anything), which had never happened when I was using Windows 7. Another issue I experienced was that my laptop wouldn't connect to a public wifi like the one at Starbucks. Somehow it fixed itself on that one. I've no idea why and how. And like OP said in the first post, all my other devices would connect just fine. They are all iOS devices, though. Sometimes I wonder if it's time give Mac a try, if Windows continues to slip up on essential functionalities like wifi...

 

I have exactly the same problem, and using the administrative command prompts to reset the ip address is useless to reestablish the connection - the command prompt error rendered indicates that the file is completely gone (gone) - or at least windows 10 does not know how to find it nor how to reestablish it. The troubleshooter should be able to recognize this problem and resolve it - this is a failing on Microsoft's part. With each new problem I experience with Windows 10 - and the lust is never ending - I am reminded of the defective Vista that was forced on us. As much as I dread the thought, if Microsoft doesn't straighten out their act, I will migrate to Apple. Right now I am considering reinstalling either Windows 7 or 8. The number of problems with 10 seems to be never ending, and I really don't have the time to keep getting shut completely down like this since it is hurting my business. Microsoft: you guys really need to get it together; you're getting a failing grade from me right now. In my opinion, the last stable platform released by Microsoft was Windows 7.
