Windows Will Not Update Due To a Corrupted Registry

I have been unable to update windows for quite some time as a result of a corrupted registry. Each time the pc tries to update it just gives me an error code for corrupted registry. I have tried to replace the corrupted registry with the backup but it still does not work. I really would like to not wipe my pc because I have so much software I would have to re configure. Even if I tried my pc still won't let me reset it. I have tried so many solutions and now I have no clue as to what to do. I am really desperate for help.

    :)

  4. Windows Will Not Update Due To a Corrupted Registry

    Windows updates...

Oh. Your "Registry" must have gotten screwed up FLY3R. If for some reason you couldn't download your updates I suppose you could go to the update site, and run throught the steps 'till it fails activation. Then you could go up to "Tools > Manage Add ons > then disable "Windows Genuine Advatage Validation Tool." Of course you should only use this method if you are having problems updating your legitamate copy of Windows XP. Perhaps do to a corrupted piece of software? *Smile Windows Will Not Update Due To a Corrupted Registry :)
