  1. Windows Wireless LAN 802.11 Extensibility Framework

I am unsure if I have a virus since I ran a scan through VirusTotal and one of the tags came back as #malware. I ran it again in Filescan.io and it came up as likely malicious. The file is located in the normal C:\Windows\System32 folder. In properties it has all of the normal copyright signatures and such. Does not look suspicious, but I'd like to make sure it's fine. Here's the file scan. The thing is I have not downloaded any suspicious files/apps, nor have I gone to any weird sites, so I don't understand if it's a false positive or a trojan that somehow got into my system from my thumb dri

  2. What is Windows Wireless LAN 802.11 Extensibility Framework and why is it using 25% of my CPU

    Greetings,

Hi, I'm Anuraag, an Independent Windows Advisor and a Microsoft customer. I'd be happy to look into this for you.

Thanks for reaching out to us.

I hope you are doing well.

    Now, coming to your query,

    Lan 802.11:

Different WiFi adapter drivers communicate with Windows' wireless security and connection capabilities through an interface called the Windows Wireless LAN 82.11 Extensibility Framework.

This framework will occasionally use more CPU than usual, but if it does so for an extended period, if it's happening all time, you can end the process and restart the PC. If you see it happening post-restart, I suggest you check the OS version first and then reinstall the Wireless Driver; that'll take care of the issue.

I will give a detailed step in my following comment.

    Regards,
