Windows XP or Vista? --> Windows 10 Free Upgrade--> Transfer to New Computer

    Hi everyone,

Many moons ago,, I purchased a Windows XP license for a custom-built PC and took advantage of the free upgrade to 10. That PC is on its last legs, so is it possible to transfer the license to custom-built computer?

I'm sorry if it's already answered somewhere. I did a search, but most articles seemed to be about upgrading from newer-than-XP versions. I know it's a long shot, but seems like a waste if I didn't try. Thanks for the help!

Edit: It is not an OEM license, and now I'm unsure if it was XP or Vista. Also, will I still be able to get it to Windows 10 for free since that was a limited time offer?

    Thank you!

    :)

Windows 7 to Pack Virtual Windows XP

ah! lol. I selected xp from a list and thought that was all that was needed, turns out its just suggesting settings based on the selection. I'll just read up on this. I'm rushing into it without much thought here.

ya I'm an idiot dude. I thought this would be like the windows mobile emulator in visual studio where everything is loaded already for you. I dont exactly have an xp disc laying around here at work lol.

I'll just have to play with it when I get home.
