Windows10 requiring product key


Is your Windows 7 activated? If it is properly activated a Windows 10 upgrade should not ask for a product key.

Have you tried the "Upgrade this PC now" option of the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool?

After you get a successful upgrade, and the Windows 10 is activated, then you can do a clean install by booting from a Windows 10 USB or DVD which you can also make with the Media Creation Tool. A clean install will ask for a product key and you click on the tiny text that says Skip the step. Might have to skip the Product Key two or three times. IF the upgraded Windows 10 on the same computer was activated, the clean install of Windows 10 will activate. And remember - you have to stay with either the Home or the Pro version - you can't go from Home to Pro or from Pro to Home.

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
2. Select or click Ease of Access.
3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
5. Check if issue is resolved.

Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

 

Windows 10 Activation With Windows 7 Key

Yes you can. I finally successfully repaired my Win7 x64 computer few days ago and gave it a try this way:

1. I downloaded Windows10 x64 unilang ISO from microsoft website
   
   • Note: it was still the 1607 release
     
   • Note: I did not use Windows for this download but a Linux rescue OS to avoid being redirected to the upgrade webpage
     
2. Burnt it on a DVD (did not boot for me using an USB flash drive)
   
3. Installed it
   
   • Note: I used the fresh install option (I didn't care my very old files on disk)
     
   • Note: I skipped the key registration on this step
     
4. Once Win10 installed, I activated it from the control panel using my Win7 key.
   

In fact, I think hope such option will remains in the future for anyone being able to re-install a crashed win10-upgraded computer using their win7 activation key.
