Windows 10: Windows10 Update Failure

I have been failing to install updates for almost 2 months. I paused the update for a period, but recently it says I cannot pause the update any longer. However, the update that was automatically downloaded still cannot be installed successfully.


Whenever I restart to install the critical update, it would say "we couldn't complete the update. Undoing changes."


I have appealed to the "Get Help" application. It restarted the update service, but it was useless. Same problem still occurs. I have also checked the system integrity with:


DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow


It says there is no integrity issue.

To troubleshoot your issue, we suggest doing these following troubleshooting methods:

Method 1

• Turn off your PC.
• Press and hold Shift then turn on your PC.
• Wait for the setup (set up fixes the problem automatically).

Method 2

• Create a media creation tool by following the steps in this
  link.
• Select your preferred installation option and wait for the process to finish.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
