Windows 10: Windows10 Update: kb3093266 - What Does It Do?

Maybe it will help to install the Update in Save Mode?

 

I installed it, it did no harm. It included KB3081448, which I had deleted earlier, but I suppose the new portion fixed the problems that the KB3081441-1449 updates caused me.

 

Update installed great for me. Best thing about this update is that all my Windows 10 icons, such as Windows Store, had be greyed out and had not worked. I had done everything but do a refresh/reinstall. This update actually fixed my Store icons and all the rest. Some of the Apps I had to actually go to the store to reinstall, but everything is working now.

I am sorry to those who are having problems. I am a happy camper that everything is working as expected finally.

 

I always encounter "UNDOING CHANGES"

Still won't install.. whenever i reach 100% from restart! Any MS Professional here ?

 

Many system drivers have been updated with this KB3093266 and the OS version is now 10.0.10240.16515 (Win10 RTM) as opposed to 10.0.10240.16384. For those having problems, just think of all this knowledge you have gained on what does and does not work on your pc.

 

just noticed that too. Not sure how long that thing has been there as I use other software for DVD playing which, is becoming really rare.

i run w10 pro 64bit and the update is around 500MB *Eek*Eek

i would really know how and if can i get rid of Windows Update Cleanup !
i mean i run disk clean up ,but can find the option to check Windows Update Cleanup
i guess they removed in w10
update after update w10 will keep what ? 60GB

 

Windows10 Update: kb3093266

I updated yesterday, and had no problems at all on my ASUS X54C running Win 10 Pro 64-bit

Only annoyance was the ~ 500+ MB size of the update. I am capped at 20 GB, and only have a 4Mbps connection

 

after installing this update Windows update service cant start anymore it tells me Code: The Windows Update service terminated with the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.[/quote] Uninstalled it and Windows update service still cant start it was also set manual after the initial install putting back to auto dont start the service and BIT service was set to manual too but that actual starts..

Sees that I'm in the same boat as you... even after it reaches 100% and says installation completed and then asks me to reset the PC.. but upon rebooting it comes back with update failed?

I guess MS have failed big time on this CU.... hopefully they will fix this asap!

Running Win 10 RTM Build 10240, Cumulative update KB3093266 from yesterday was installed. However, it seems like it is causing problems of trying to install Realtek HD Audio drivers as what appears to happen is I can run the setup.exe from 6.0.1.7620 or 6.0.1.7622 pf the Realtek drivers, it will do the uninstall of drivers and then reboot except after rebooting, it does not run the installer like it's supposed to before applying this update. Instead, what appears to happen is Windows install 6.0.1.7571 on it's own so when one runs the setup.exe, it will uninstall 6.0.1.7571 and prompt for reboot except after rebooting, it install's 6.0.1.7571 instead of running the installer.

 

Have a question, how do you find out what version the OS is exactly?
