Windows 10: winmail.dat works on Win8?

    winmail.dat works on Win8?


    Having a weird issue and can't seem to find that missing piece to solve it. A user received an email in Yahoo. It contains both an excel file and a pdf file. It also has a winmail.dat file.


    If I open it on my Windows 10 laptop in Firefox, Chrome, or Microsoft Edge from Yahoo.... I can see all the files, but can't view or download them.


    If I open it on my Windows 8.1 machine in Chrome, again I can't view or download.


    If I open on my iphone, I don't even see the files... just the winmail.dat file.


    But if I open the email from Yahoo on my Windows 8.1 machine in Firefox, I can view and download the excel file. I can also open the files if I forward the email to Outlook.


    Anyone know what makes Win 8 and Firefox work and nothing else?

    missing winmail folders and files in Windows 10

    We have just noticed that a complete chunk of our Winmail email folders/files has disappeared from roughly half way down the list on the left hand side. Neither of us are aware of having deleted anything or moved anything. How can we recover them (if
    indeed we can). There are a lot....... and not all recent. We have tried some of the suggestions and nothing works so far. Most of the suggestions are from an older version.

    Outlook 2019 sporadischer winmail-10.dat Anhang

    Folgendes Problem besteht bei einem unserer Kunden an einem ihrer Rechner (Win10 und Outlook2019).

    Manche Mails mit einem PDF Anhang aus Lexware kommen bei manchen Kunden unseres Kunden als winmail-10.dat an. Dieses Problem ist neu und erst mit Outlook 2019 aufgetreten.

    Lexware schließt ein Problem ihrerseits aus da die Dateien ohne Fehlermeldung zu PDFs umgewandelt werden und beim versenden keine Fehlermeldung auftritt. Die Mail im Gesendeten Order hat ebenfalls einen lesbaren .pdf Anhang bei uns und lokal beim Kunden
    im Netz.

    Ausdrucken und einscannen der Rechnung und manuell als PDF Anhang auswählen Funktioniert zwar, ist dem Kunden allerdings zu lästig.

    Ich bin schon ein paar Lösungen durchgegangen, welche bislang nicht zur Fehlerbeseitigung führten. (Lösungen zu älteren Outlook Versionen)

    Den Lösungsvorschlag zu Outlook 2007 und 2010 mit der Registry habe ich allerdings noch nicht probiert.
