Windows 10: Wiped my computer out while installing and failing to install update 2022-08 Cumulative...

My computer went into automatic updates last night. Today when it rebooted it acted like a brand new computer with no information in it. I signed into edge and chrome but nothing comes up on my computer still in my files or anything else. I have restarted my computer several times hoping it would revert back on its own with no luck. When I went to the settings pages is when I noticed the install failure and when though the trouble shooting but it just seemed to get stuck "installing" even after rebooting computer it says installing. I have a HP computer unable to update to Windows 11 due to sy

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

Failed to install 2020-08 Cumulative Update/KB4566782

Hello, I've run into the following issue while updating Windows 10.

Windows Update tried to install the 2020-08 Cumulative Update. It downloaded, installed and requested to restart. Upon restarting, it blue-screened stating SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. It looped once
more with the same problem and eventually went into self-recovery mode, automatically uninstalling the update (and then booting into Windows without issues).

The 2020-08 Cumulative Update no longer appears through Windows Update. I checked my installed version (19041.388) and indeed it is left behind (the latest version is 19041.450). The patch responsible for upgrading
is KB4566782, so I headed over to Microsoft Update Catalog found it and tried to install it manually. The result was exactly the same as before, failure due to SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.

I have verified my Windows installation through the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool as well as 'sfc /scannow' but none of these tools found any issues.

Any ideas/suggestions on how to overcome this issue? Thanks in advance!

 

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.
