Wiped out all my Thunderbird accounts..

Here's one for you I bet you haven't heard yet.

A window popped up saying my SD card I use to run portable apps off had errors and would I like Windows to correct it. I naturally said yes, and Windows came back with another poppup saying the drive was repaired. I then proceeded to check my mail using Tbird on the drive. Tbird came up as if it was just installed! I am not a happy camper, I had 7 email addresses along with archived folders going back to 2016. What could have happened? All other portable programs and files are fine.

    :)

Accounts in windows 10 and Thunderbird

After upgrading to windows 10 I added my outlook.com account to "mail" in windows 10. I didn't like it, and had trouble using the "sync" function but eventually got it synced and folders rebuilt and files over to it. I have now installed Thunderbird and like that program much better and have imported all my files and folders and contacts.
Question: Can I now remove my outlook.com account from "mail" in windows 10 ? Or will that wipe all info I imported to and using with Thunderbird? And second, how to I remove that account in mail, I don't see that option listed anywhere. Thank in advance for any help or suggestions.

    Thunderbird problems

Right, so my gf's dad tried to back up his mail from Thunderbird to a network HDD by changing the location of the local folder for all his accounts, which is like 3 or 4. Now, none of his mail or accounts show up in Thunderbird and they aren't listed on the network drive. I was able to locate all the mail in its original location in AppData, but I don't know how to get it back to the way it was. Any ideas would help, thanks in advance.
