To help you find the name and model of the wireless adapter

    Click the Start button
In the search box type control panel
Click on the Control Panel that comes up
    Click on Device Manager
There should be an Unknown Device in there. Right click on it and click on Properties
Click on the Details tab near the top
In the Property section, there is a down arrow to the right.
Click on the down arrow and click on Hardware Ids
In the Value section you will get two or three items that will come up.
Highlight the first item in the list and right click. Click on Copy
Open up your browser and go to Google. Right click in the search bar and click on Paste. Click on search.

Now you should be able to find the name and model on your wireless adapter. If you are still having trouble finding it,
go back to the second item in the Value list and do the same thing.

wireless adapter not showing in device manager

Wireless adapter does not show up in device manager

My desktop has an internal wireless card - Realtek RTL8188E Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC. In network properties I can see it, but it shows a status of "Not Present" and Connectivity (IPv4/IPv6) of "Disconnected." The status and connectivity values show
for Local Area Connections 2 & 3 (Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapters). In Device Manager, the adapter is simply not there, only the ethernet connection device shows. What prompted this is that I need to access WiFi on my computer to control some lighting.
However, WiFi does not even show up in the list under "Network and Internet" on the Network "Status" page. I am using Windows 10 on Lenovo desktop. All of this worked until about two months ago, which was shortly after I got a new **** Router. Any ideas on
how to access WiFi on my computer?
