  1. Wireless Connection Constantly Dropping Out

When trying to use my University Wi-Fi, my wireless connection keeps changing to "No Internet Access." I keep having to go through the struggle everytime this happens, where I have to end up resetting my wireless adapter. I'm not sure what is causing this; I have filed a ticket with my university IT department, but it happens, nowhere near as frequently, but still tends to happen on other networks too.

    :)

    Wireless connection randomly drops

So i currently have a MSI GT80 running killer wireless 1525 network adapter and am constantly seeing network drops to the point where i get an exclamation mark over my wireless icon and no activity. Connection shows connected but no speed, only until i manually disconnect and reconnect. This has been happening since earlier this week after having the laptop off for a couple days and i'm sure some updates came in from Microsoft.

Steps I've taken already to resolve this:

    1. Uninstalled killer wireless software suite and installed stand alone killer driver
    2. Refreshed the PC with clean windows 10 install
    3. All drivers are up to date including BIOS
    4. Ran ccleaner along with registry side of it
    5. Memtest shows no errors
    6. Hard drives show no errors
    7. Connected to LAN and no drops all day

I'm not sure what else to check as this is a fairly new laptop bought back in march and doing some searching on google showed some posts about people with the same issues (different laptops/hardware) thinking it was related to Windows 10.

This has me thinking a recent update is causing it..

any other things i can try please?

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 constantly drops connection

    Hey guys,

first of all, thank you for reading my post. I got a massive problem with my Intel AC 7260 Wireless Adapter in my Alienware Area 51 R2.

For some reason, after nearly 3 years of constant performance and no hardware problems at all, the WiFi card of my Area 51 keeps losing Internet Connection.

The strange part is, that the connection to my router is still intact, but the Internet access gets crossed out red. I also have a notebook, an iMac and an iPhone connected in the same network and every device works just fine.

To proof furthermore that my router works just fine, I tested LAN connection on the Area 51 and there are no connections drops at all.

Back to WiFi Connection: I searched in some forums and there are some people who seem to have the same problem like me. For example: Alienware Forum - Killer wifi keeps losing internet connection

    What I already tried was:

    • installed latest driver from KillerNetworking (v.1.6.2149) x64
    • installed latest driver from Intel 20.70.0.4 for AC 7260
    • deactivated and activated Wifi Card in device manager
    • deactivated IPv6 (altough it worked 3 years with IPv6 settings on)
    • Power Management -> disabled "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power"

To make it as understandable as possible, I'll try to list a scheme of the problem:

    1. WiFi Connection is "stable"

    2. Suddenly the current application stucks because the PC has no connection to the Internet. After 10 secs, the WiFi symbol gets crossed out. Windows displays that I'm still connected to the router, but there is no Internet connection. (every other device is still connected and has internet connection though)

    3. For 1 sec, the crossed out WiFi symbol changes to a crossed out Ethernet connection Symbol (like I had a LAN cable connected, with connection to the router, but not Internet connection)

    4. And 5 secs later, the WiFi symbol pops up again and the Internet connection is back again.

    5. Repeat multiple times a day

I can confirm that the connection drops are not coming more frequently when the download/upload-traffic is high. The connection drops in an idle state on the desktop of Windows as well.

Do you have any ideas? Do you think it's a hardware defect?

    Keep up the good work!

    Best regards from Germany,

    Felix

Internet Connection constantly dropping every few minutes.

Despite the age of the pots (made almost a year ago), I found this incredibly helpful... instead of buying an external WiFi card adapter, which could mean wasted money, I applied it and will see if it helps or resolves my issue. Here's what I've done thus far:

ISSUE: Intermittent drop in WIFI signal

    HARDWARE: ASUS ROG-G20CB Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive - Black/Red | Realtek 8821ae Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC

    RESOLUTION (TEST TEMP-FIX 1 AND 2):

TEMP-FIX 1: Internet Connection constantly dropping every few minutes. - Windows 10 Forums

    In Summation -

    1) Click on the WiFi signal icon on your computer taskbar to open the WiFi page that contains a list of different network names.
    2) Right-click on the WiFi box (please refer to the attached snapshot where the cursor pointed) and you will see a message Go to Settings.
    3) Click on Go to Settings, click on Manage Known Networks.
    4) On Manage Known Networks, you might see a list of all your saved networks from the past to the current ones (if you had saved not only one network names onto your computer).
    5) Right-click on the network names that you don't want and click on Forget to remove them away and, only keep the one network name that you always want to connect with.
    6) Open Network Settings which you can found on the WiFi page (the first snapshot), make sure you have turned off for the other settings there (as shown on next snapshot attached).
    7) By doing all the above, the WiFi connection will not automatically disconnect itself no matter what you do to the computer (e.g, restart computer or put the computer to sleep).

    TEMP-FIX 2: New G20CB and USB/LED/Wi-Fi issues?

    In Summation -

I installed the 09/07/2015, version 2023.14.615.2015, despite the source location and title... Realtek RTL8821AE Wireless Lan Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo S200z, AIO 300-20ISH Realtek RTL8821AE Wireless Lan Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo S200z, AIO 300-20ISH
