[Wireless Keyboard & Mouse] PC Wakes up from Sleep shortly after.

    Good evening TenForums,

I currently use a wireless mouse and keyboard, with the usb stick in the rear of the computer. Due to the positioning of my PC, it's annoying to turn on and off, so I just put my PC to sleep.
However, within maybe an hour (usually 30 minutes), my computer wakes itself up. I've used EventViewer and the culprit (Power-Troubleshooter) is "USB Root Hub", of which (according to device manager) I have 2 of. Checking all the events of both, shows nothing that relates to the Sleep function.
I was wondering what could be the cause of this. Is is that W10 doesn't like wireless peripherals waking up the computer, or that because that's what I want it to do, it's doing it prematurely/of its own accord? Or anything else for that matter, it's got me well and truly stumped.

I appreciate any advice/support given and give you my thanks in advance,

    :)

  2. Using laptop as desktop - can't wake it from sleep with wireless mouse or keyboard.

    • I'm having a very difficult time following the narrative in your last five (5) replies.
I've tried to be as clear and concise as possible.

    • Have you or have you not installed Avast Free?
I hadn't uninstalled it, only deactivated it; but just now I did uninstall it, then re-booted the laptop, put it to sleep and tried to wake it using the mouse. No luck.

    • You just posted: "Just now, I disconnected the mouse, keyboard and monitor; manually put it to sleep using the Start Menu icons (because the lid action is still set to do nothing); closed the lid; and when I opened the lid it woke up."
    • So the Notebook PC (laptop) "wakes up" now as long as the external devices (i.e., mouse; keyboard; monitor) are not connected to the ASUS device, is that correct?
Mouse and keyboard connected or disconnected doesn't have any effect on what happens:

    - Opening the lid wakes the laptop.

    - If the lid is already open and I put the laptop to sleep, pressing the power button wakes up the laptop.

    - Lid open or closed, if I put the laptop to sleep and try to wake it using the mouse or keyboard, nothing happens.

    mouse/keyboard wont wake pc

Hi Dalchina My mouse (logitech) and Keyboard (dell) are both wireless. I have a Dell desktop all in one (no box) I have checked to see that the mouse and keyboard are checked to wake up the pc. It wont come off the black sleep screen. I hope I have followed instructions properly.

    Mouse wake PC

I set my computer to sleep after 20 minutes. I only want my keyboard to wake up my PC, because sometimes I set things down on my desk and the vibration must be felt by the mouse and my PC comes out of sleep. I disabled the option in the mouse settings in the control panel, but nothing works. As for the command error, that's what's aggravating me the most! I am the administrator, so I don't know what it means that I don't have the permission to enable device wake. It seems like the mouse has a mind of it's own. When I used a wired mouse, it would behave properly (not wake up the PC). Now, that I switched to a USB wireless mouse it seems to do what it wants
