  1. With 32GB of RAM on Windows 11 x64, does required pagefile size differ with SSD?

In the past, let's say around Windows 7 x64 on HDD with smaller RAM sizes lesser than 16/32GB I learned that recommended pagefile size at the HDD equals to:The fysical RAM size plus the square root of that fysical RAM, which is almost about 1.5 times the size of fysical RAM.Yet the current configuration on Windows 11 x64:i7 cpu, 32GB of RAM and Windows x64 running on Samsung SSD where pagefile currently resides.Current automatic pagefile configuration:minimun: 16MB recommended size: 4981MBcurrently assigned: 2048MBSo why is pagefile more or less 12,5% of fysical RAM size 32GB /8?Has th

Best pagefile size for Windows 10 x64 OS

    I refer to this
    article
which tips I followed but the result confused me.

I read that what was best for XP (min and max 1.5x RAM) is not proper for the newer OS and especially x64 based OS. I have 4 GB RAM (3.88) usable and I had manually set min and max pagefile size to 6 GB. After carefully reading the article above I set my
settings to system-managed. From the article I understood that the system will set the minimum size according to needs of the crash dump setting and probably will be 1x RAM plus 257 MB to cover complete memory dump. Or 1 GB to cover automatic memory dump
which is enabled at me. The maximum of the system-managed pagefile should be 3x RAM. i.e. 12 GB. I set to system-managed but after the restart I got surprising result - system-managed pagefile is currently allocated 704 but recommended size is bigger (around
double). Maximum definitely is not 3x RAM as now I have more space on C than when pagefile was 6 GB. Please, advise me what to do. I'm afraid of not screwing up the crash dump memory as now pagefile is under 1 GB and this to be dangerous for my PC as the system
won't be able to create the crash dump file. Even if min size of pagefile is not 1x RAM plus 257 MB as the automatic memory dump is 1 GB then why the system-managed pagefile became 704 MB and is different than the recommended? Should manually I set recommended
as min and 3x RAM (12 GB) as max?

  3. Windows shows 15.9 of 32gb ram

It is 1.5x page file when you have a low memory.

When the memory is 16GB 32GB or more, it is said that the Pagefile is not needed. Either way windows read that 4 slots are used, 8GB in each one and when I first added it, the ram was 32 of 32GB available. But when I reinstalled windows 11 Pro, it shows 32 installed and 15.9 useable.

With 32GB of RAM on Windows 11 x64, does required pagefile size differ with SSD?

16GB ram - pagefile size question

This is what I do, but I prefer to set it to the max system managed size permanently, so that there is less disk thrashing when the pagefile needs to be increased in size. It seems that ahving the pagefile as one continuous file, rather than broken up on the drive as space allows, is optimal.

laptops with SSDs-only, no HDD, come with the pagefile enabled. You'd think if there was any real issue with pagefiles and SSD's, these lappy makers wold do things differently.
