  2. add computer to home network

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

As I understand that your new computer is not detecting or connecting with wireless home network. We will help you to resolve the issue.

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to run home group troubleshooter as below and check if it helps.

    • Type troubleshooting in the search area on the taskbar and select
      Troubleshooting
      .
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • Click Home Group.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Make sure you have the home group setup correctly on your computers. I would suggest you to delete the existing home group and create a fresh home group. For that please refer the Microsoft help article below:

HomeGroup from start to finish (Windows 8.1 steps applies
    to Windows 10)

Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.

My computer's name is not displayed in file explorer Network group.

My computer's name (Office) does not appear in the local Network list.
It does appear on other computer's (XPS-Club) Network list.
Office is primary system in my profile.
XPS-Club is second system in my profile.

If I type \\Office in the Network Address bar, the name and associated shares is displayed in the local list.
However, the information is only shown for the current file explorer session.

Upon reviewing my original post, I realized I really hadn't asked for help. I know there are many threads similar to mine, both on this forum and in many other forums on the internet, but I have yet to find a solution for my particular situation.

So, I am asking the members of this forum for assistance in getting my Office computer to display itself in its own network group.
