    My PC's Cortana displays the same ("Search right here"), but I have an Insider Preview, so it may be a change coming to the next 'big' update of Windows 10 (Redstone 3).

    Should I update Lumia 640 to 10586.420?

    Actually Microsoft has stated that all insider still running on older phones will get TH2 updates until they finalize the RS1 branche. That will be the next big upgrade in Windows 10.

    Ater the Public release of the Redstone builds all older phones in the insider programm that officialy didn't get windows 10 (like your 635 or 950 1020 etc) won't get any updates any more. And the insider program will also stop delivering build to those
    older phones at that time.

    Only way to try the Redstone build on a unsupported phone is by a registery hack....

    But the 640 will get the Redstone builds in july when is it released to the public, or now if your are an insider on the fast ring
