    WMDC and Windows 10

This post is more informational than a question. Since Windows 10 Build 1703 the services for WMDC have been isolated from talking to each other. There is a patch available to download and apply after uninstalling all devices, stopping all services and uninstalling all software. Quite the process in a large organization ESPECIALLY when every time a Windows update is released you can expect to need to repeat the process. It is ridiculous that Microsoft has not come up with a permanent fix for this in 2 years. I just spoke with Microsoft Premium Support and was told the following:

They cannot even find information about the Lifecycle for WMDC... they can't even understand the issue... they don't get that this is broken again almost every month after applying the patch.

My advice is to move your PCs or your customers off of Windows devices asap

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
