Why is this process taking up 4-7% of my CPU? I know what is does, but is it normal for it to use that much power (%)? This has not been a problem before. Only a few weeks ago, it was only on 1% or less. Will disabling this process do any harm to my system?

    :)

WMI Host Provider Regularly Using Up CPU

Thanks Andre!! This solved my WMI Host problem. My CPU went back again to 2, 3 o 4% when idle and the Temperature of my CPU and Cores was reduced to Normal levels 45 to 52 degrees C. Thanks again.... Aaron...

It should have zero activity, unless it is in a job, maybe triggered by some app.
Running a maintenance would not hurt. Download WC.bat and run it as admin.

I tried to run it, restarted my computer after it was done. No change *Sad Is it any way to see what is triggering it?

  6. Download Process Monitor to see, what it is is doing, maybe it will give some clue.

    Menu - Filter - Filter - Process Name - is - wmiprvse.exe - OK - Yes

So I tried to run it. It mentions USBHUB 3 alot. Maybe a device is making the problem? I tried to disconnect all of my USB devices. Nothing seemed to lower the CPU usage from WMI provider host.

It looks, like it is trying to repeatedly install a driver.

You can use Driver Easy Free to check for missing/outdated drivers.
Then you can google the driver version and download it elsewhere.
