Windows 10: Won’t detect separate audio devices

I got a pair of speakers recently, i’ve been using headphones for a while, and every time I plug them in the same pc as my headphones, both the headphones & the speakers are recognized as Realtek High def Audio by the pc. The same audio plays out of them too. Any way to separate them as different devices so I can set different defaults? Thanks!

How to separate audio outputs in playback devices

That is what i did when I reinstalled the drivers. First it only had the speakers, added drivers, HDMI appeared, plugged in second analog port which is detected in realtek HD audio manager but is not listed as a second output. All three devices are dectected, but the two analog devices don't appear as separate output devices.

when I plug my headphones into the front panel audio jack, a dialog box pops up, like this one:





Yet sound is turned off. I can look at this dialog box as well:









Any help is appreciated.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run sound audio troubleshooter, it will automatically detect the problem and fix it. Follow the below steps.

  Press Windows key + R and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View by: category and click on
  Small icon.
  
• 
  Now click on troubleshooting and click on
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on Playing Audio and Click on Next button.
  

If the issue still persist try the below steps:

Method 2.

I recommend you to update the audio driver and check if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• Now click on Audio input and output and right click on it and
  update the driver.
• For the video issues try the below method.

Method 3.

Also I suggest you to update the display driver and let us know the status.

• 
  Press Windows Key + R and type
  devmgmt.msc in the box and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Locate and Expand the Display Adapter driver.
  
• 
  Right Click on the Display Device.
  
• 
  Click on update.
