Windows 10: Word and excel

I bought this computer with word and excel already installed, no discs or install codes were given. I received an automatic upgrade from microsoft November 10th and installed the upgrade as usual. When I tried to open an excel file it changed the file name and would not open after that. Now all of my excel and word files will not open. says an error occurred with and the program will close. it also has a fix program now tab that just closes the program. If I just close it changes the file to a .tmp file and will not open????


I cannot uninstall the program since I don't have the original disc with the install code, the microsoft office program was installed when I purchased this computer from Costco. What can I do to fix this problem ???

• What is the build and version of your Windows 10?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
• Are the Excel and Word documents the only files affected?

Word and Excel 2013 now crash when I try to print or edit-Outlook OK

Trying to print or edit in Office 2013 Word and Excel now causes the program to crash. Outlook works fine.

the following have not fixed the problem.

1. Repair install of Office 2013
2. Uninstall (with Revo Pro) and then full re-install
3. Uninstall and then reinstall of the HP Laserjet printer drive.

What is my next step, short of nuking the entire Win installation and starting over (ugh!)???

 

Unable to open Excel or Word

I am unable to open a specific Excel File or Excel or Word at all. It shows and error message (-2147163890). Any suggestions
