Windows 10: word docs changing to exe application files on USB

I copy my word doc onto my flash drive (which I have done many times before) but now when I go to open the flash drive the file are either .exe OR application OR they seem to "disappear" I know they are still there because when I "search" docs come up! I am in China and need to use my USB to open my files on another computer in the classroom as I am a teacher. This hasnt happened before Is this a virus?

You can simply convert .txt file to a word file by simply using a .doc as an extension. Follow these steps:

• Open file using Notepad.
• Click File.
• Hit Save as, then rename the file. (Make sure to use .doc or .docx as an extension)
• Click Save.

microsoft word 2003

I have a lot of ms word files on my pc. But one of them showed me an error - Getting unknown error messages while opening (.doc) or (.docx) files. I don't know how to open my word file or repair microsoft word. Any suggestions, guys, please.

To change the file extension when saving a document in Word 2013, you may follow the steps below:

• Click on File; then, select Options from the list.
• In the Word Options window, choose Save.
• Under Save files in this format, select *.doc from the list.
• Hit OK button to confirm and save the changes.
