Windows 10: Wrong keys on keyborad mute the sound while the mute button don't

I have an Elitebook 840 g1 and The keys: z , x , c , . , t , y , \ and , mute the sound while the mute button itself doesn't.

Headset not playing sounds after mute and unmute

After plugging in my headset into a 3.5mm jack, I can hear sound great. Then, if I were to hit my mute button twice (To mute then u-mute) I can no longer hear sounds.

Tried:

- Updating drivers

- Re-plugging in headphone

- Spamming mute button / volume buttons

- Using other headphones (They work)

- Searching online

I have a:

Lenovo Ideapad z70-80

Sure, I could just not use the mute button but A, it's just above my tinny "1" key and B, I like having a mute button.

Mute Button

so I have a gaming laptop and the button to mute sound is F1 which is very annoying cause I cant do anything else with it because its set as the mute button and a lot of games use that button a lot. is there a way I can change the key so that its not F1?
also I have windows 10

 

Volume Mute Light won´t change color

Before I follow your suggestions, a quick update: as the updating didn´t seem to work I stopped trying and just left it alone for awhile. About a half hour later I looked over and saw that the mute light was now blue. I tried the button but it and the volume buttons did not work at all. On the screen I was told that I needed to reboot, which I did and now the system has returned back to the way it was before: everything works except that the mute light does not change to blue as it should when the speakers are not muted. WTF?
