  1. WSH Issue

    Hello,

I am a rising web developer and have been in the game of coding for a while. But as of late I've had an issue.

I had a Dell XPS 420 that I worked off of before July, and it worked well. It got done what I needed it to. That is until July, I built a new rig with an 8th gen Intel in it. I install Windows and immediately do something really stupid. Long story short, I got some sort of svchost.exe malware in my SYSWOW64 folder. I used Malwarebytes, and now have ESET NOD 32 on top of that to protect me. So I got the big bad code fixed... right?

Well, come a month or two later, I discover that it refuses to allow me to connect through googleadservices.com to get to places like ebay.com, amazon.com, and newegg.com while under the ad tab/shopping tab. I cleared Chrome cache and did everything it advised. Nothing. Which left me to one problem that they stated left... Malware.

And come 2 months later, I finally transferred all of my code off my XPS to this. And I install Sublime Text 3, my preferred code-writing software. Makes it look pretty. Problem is though, .js files only open through "Microsoft Windows Based Script Host"... Which, whenever I click, spits out an error that looks something along the lines of

    Script: [FILE DIR]

    Line: 1

    Char: 1

    Error: Syntax Error

    Code: 800A03EA

    Source: Microsoft JScript compilation error

Which, to me, doesn't look legit IN THE SLIGHTEST. However, I could be wrong.

Problem lies is that I go to Default apps in Settings to change the default application that runs .js files appears as that application. I go to change it to Sublime Text 3, but the INSTANT I press that button, my Settings locks up for 5 minutes, then proceeds to flash ST3 in that box, but then instantly reverts back to this "Microsoft Windows Based Script Host". .json files also have a similar issue, it never remembers that I set it to ST3.

Can someone please help? It's not the fact that it's irritating to go out of the way to open the file with ST, but I think this is a malicious clone of the WSH application

    :)

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
