Windows 10: WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80070050

I just updated Ubuntu 20.04 LTS from Microsoft Store. After that, I tried opening it in case I need to do some updates. However, the following message appears.Installing, this may take a few minutes... WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80070050 Error: 0x80070050 The file exists.I have tried the following solutions:using the repair function from the app settingshutting down wslrebooting my laptoprestarting the LxssManagerturning off and on the WSL featuresbut it still does not solve the problem.May I know what is the cause of this error and how to solve it? updating from 9926 to 10041 on SLOW, error 0x80070050

Hello,

When i try to update from 9926 to 10041, i get the error 0x80070050.

It downloads the update, gets stuck on "preparing to install" step and then shows me the error 0x80070050.

I searched online, could not find a solution, many of the solutions (with different error codes) talked about modifying some registry entries, but my registry values seem to be fine.

I also tried stopping services and renaming some folders under %windir% and %windir%/system32 but got the same result.

I also tried to switch to FAST and download 10049 but again, got the same error.

 

WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80004005

Launching Ubuntu (or any other wsl system) i get such error: "WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80004005". Tried googling it, but nothing helps. I tried to restart Lxss, tried sfc, dism, etc., but no errors were found. And i still get this.
