Windows 10: WU not finding KB4512508

I have three systems. Specs are:


Core i7 870 2.93 GHz, 4GB RAM, 64 bit OS/x64 processor, Win 10 Pro 1809

Core i7 920 2.67 GHz, 4GB RAM, 64 bit OS/x64 processor, Win 10 Pro 1809

Core i7 6500 2.5 GHz, 8GB RAM, 64 bit OS/x64 processor, Win 10 Home 1903

The last one (1903 level), WU installed KB4512508 on 8/13. I cannot get WU to install on the first two. Info I read that first told me about the critical RDP fix pointed me to some MS info and the update catalog. My understanding is all three need KB4512508 installed. Checking for updates in WU keeps telling me I am current. I can't guarantee my understanding is correct since the first two systems are still at 1809 (WU offered the 1903 update on the one system months ago and the Win10 update assistant isn't an option to update the first two), however WU has not installed any updates on the first two systems since 8/10 (before the RDP fix was released) and keeps telling me I'm current. Has MS pulled KB4512508 because it's another buggy fix? I had a third-party defrag utility tell me earlier today that I needed to install the RDP fix on the second system but I didn't want to go through it since it's not MS.

Can I and how do I get this supposedly critical fix installed on my first two systems?

Also, is there a way to get those systems also updated to 1903?

Headphones output device is not plugged in

A quick update about additional steps I tried:

1. Uninstall KB4512508 (no effect)
2. Re-install KB4512508 (no effect)
3. Disable and re-enable High Definition Audio Device via device manager (no effect)
   

As a last ditch I booted the PC with a live OS from USB storage and to my surprise the Headphones socket on the front panel was detected and worked fine. I think this should rule out a hardware-related issue.

Once again, I would appreciate any suggestion to solve this problem.

Hello --- I followed this directions and was able to get the update installed, but you said it was non-destructive, which is not exactly true --- it wiped out the update history and the only update in the history is KB4512508

How do I restore the history????
