Windows 10: Xbox Ambassadors profile Specializations coming soon

Hey everybody! Soon we’ll be adding a new feature to your Xbox Ambassadors profile–Specializations. Specializations give Ambassadors the opportunity to share their individual preferences around game genre, type, platform, social channels, focus areas, and skills. By sharing this information on your profile, you can better connect with like-minded Ambassadors and we can better tailor program activities and communications for you.

By filling out the Specializations section of your profile, you’re telling us and other Ambassadors what YOU prefer to do and see in the grand world of gaming. This is the first step in a larger objective for the program to create a more personalized Ambassador experience. Once we know what Ambassadors are most interested in, we can use those insights to solidify partnerships with Xbox teams and studios that give our community more opportunities that are meaningful to them.

You can expect to see Specializations in your profile in the near future. As soon as they are live, we’ll be sure to notify our Ambassadors!

Step-by-step: how to navigate and use Specializations

Navigate to your Xbox Ambassadors Profile at https://ambassadors.microsoft.com/xb...file/overview/

Select “Specializations” from the ribbon at top of Profile

Hit the “Edit” button on right-hand side of screen to get started!

Select as many or as few Specializations as you’d like

When you’re finished for now, hit the “Save Changes” button and you’re all set!

Note: once you’ve saved your changes, your Specializations will be visible to anyone looking at your Profile. To check out another Ambassador’s Specializations, search their Gamertag on the Leaderboard and click on the Gamertag. You can then click “specializations” to see theirs, and vice versa!

On Mobile?

The steps to set your Specializations are the same, but the UI is different.

Head to your Profile at (https://ambassadors.microsoft.com/xb...file/overview/)

Hit the drop-down menu in the center of your screen (defaults to “Overview” and select “Specializations”

Hit the “Edit” button and choose whichever Specializations you’d like!

Don’t forget to click “Save Changes” before you leave the page!

It’s a Happy Holiday Season With the Xbox Ambassadors Program

If you’re looking for more chances to get involved with all things Xbox this holiday, then the Xbox Ambassadors Program has you covered! Next week, Xbox community members can unlock holiday-themed surprises and other rewards by doing things they already do – like Tweeting, watching YouTube videos, and learning about Xbox products and services. Whether you’re just buying your first Xbox console or have been around from the start, the Xbox Ambassadors Program has a spot for you.

Ambassadors are just about everywhere this holiday season. They were some of the first Xbox fans to use Clubs and the Looking for Group (LFG) feature in Preview, and thanks to the most recent console update, anyone with an Xbox One or the Xbox App can join the Xbox Ambassadors Club. It’s a great way to make friends, share information and find someone to game with.

Clubs and LFG aren’t the only places where Ambassadors are breaking onto the scene, though. Last month, over 100 Ambassadors shared helpful information with fellow gamers on Twitter. Already a fan of Twitter, and think you’d enjoy Tweeting the Xbox community as an Ambassador? All you need to do is follow these steps:

Join the Xbox Ambassadors Program at xbox.com

Click “Get Started” under the Ambassadors on Twitter section of the Join page

Authenticate a new or existing Twitter account

Start reaching out to others in 140 characters or less

The team behind the Xbox Ambassadors Program are big believers in “the more, the merrier” and hope to see you Tweeting soon!

Not so sure about Tweeting? Ambassadors are also active on YouTube! With the launch of the new https://forums.xbox.com/en-US/forum...4c95-a199-0741e6356bf2/Ambassadors-on-YouTube, anyone can share an Xbox-related video with the community. The Ambassadors on YouTube initiative is by the gamer for the gamer. So, if you’ve got an awesome game guide or a video that explains a feature of the Xbox One console, post it in the Forum linked above – you may just see it promoted by Team Xbox.

It’s mostly fun and games as a member of the Xbox Ambassadors Program, but there is a serious side. After all, nothing makes something more fun than understanding it. The Ambassadors website now features an expanded space for informational materials and quizzes, called the Academy. Hop on over to test your knowledge of the product and get rewarded for showing off your smarts.

With over 6,000 active community members, the Xbox Ambassadors Program makes finding new friends and ways to enjoy your Xbox experience easy. Join today and keep an eye out for the “Holiday” Mission for the chance to win the Program’s first-ever Limited Edition ornament!

A New Mission for Xbox Ambassadors

What does it mean to be an Xbox Ambassador? To some, it means sharing their unparalleled Xbox expertise with fellow gamers. Others define it as creating meaningful friendships with gamers from all walks of life. As for us, we think there are countless ways to be an Xbox Ambassador, all of which stem from a single commonality—a passion for community.

Commitment to community

At Xbox, we too are passionate about community. Our fans are at the center of all we do, making it paramount that Xbox is a place where everyone has fun, everyone. We know that different people have fun in different ways, and that’s why we strive to release products, services, and experiences that allow our fans to play their way—safe, together, and without boundaries.

Over the years, Clubs and Looking for Group have offered avenues to connect with gamers that may not have had the chance to play together otherwise; Xbox safety features have helped to build a safe and supportive environment for all gamers, at all levels; Xbox Design Labs has inspired Xbox fans to celebrate their personal style in their gaming experience; and, devices like the Xbox Adaptive Controller empowers us all by making gaming more accessible.

These examples demonstrate just how powerful a single passion for community can greatly impact the lives of individual gamers. We believe Xbox Ambassadors can be just as powerful.

The past, present, and future of Xbox Ambassadors

In 2011, the Xbox Ambassadors program was launched on the foundation of connecting gamers to gamers. The program continued to grow that vision by providing Xbox Ambassadors with ways to make a positive impact on the Xbox community through different types of activities.

Now, with the next evolution for Xbox Ambassadors on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to align the mission of Xbox Ambassadors with Xbox’s commitment to making gaming fun for everyone. We’re thrilled to take this opportunity to share with the greater Xbox community what the future looks like for Xbox Ambassadors.

We’re committed to empowering Xbox Ambassadors to make an impact on the community they love in ways that are important to them. Through engagement with current Xbox Ambassadors, we’ve tested a new set of activities we plan to make permanent features of the program in the future.

Examples of these activities are:

Welcome a new Xbox gamer

Play with a gamer from a different country

Play with a new friend

Befriend a new Club member

Help a friend unlock an achievement

Learn about Xbox safety

And more!

This is just the beginning. As we move forward with this vision, our goal is to create an Xbox Ambassador presence in as many places across Xbox as possible. We look to offer activities that interest all Xbox gamers and reward Xbox Ambassadors for all the positivity they spread in this community we value so much.

There is work underway to further recognize Xbox Ambassadors with badging, to foster the passions of Xbox Ambassadors through preferences and specializations, and to encourage and reward lifetime Xbox Ambassador milestones through an advanced levels system. New missions will continue to roll out to unlock XP through positive actions.

In all cases, we will look to Xbox Ambassadors to help define the specific areas of focus and detailed activities where we see the greatest impact across Xbox and the gaming community as a whole.

Join the movement

We ask again, what does it mean to be an Xbox Ambassador? They are creators, leaders, influencers, friends, fans, and of course, gamers. Now and in the future, Xbox Ambassadors set the bar for what it means to be a part of a positive gaming community.
