Windows 10: xbox game bar captures not moving to new location

I'm trying to make xbox game bar captures save to a 2tb hhd backup drive, instead of saving to my operating system ssd. I've tried everything i could find to do on the Microsoft support website. I've changed where new photos and videos are saved in settings to the new drive, I've tried dragging and dropping the captures folder from C:\username\Videos\, to the new drive. I've even tried doing this on new drive F:\username\Videos\Captures and yet nothing changes. the captures are still saving to C:\username\Videos\Captures no matter what i do. is there anything else i could try that i haven't al

I am unable to follow those steps. As I mentioned, there is no "Captures" folder. It points directly to the temp folder, and there is no Captures folder for me to edit. When I go into the properties on the temp folder, I have no "location" tab, so nothing can be changed.

Now I don't have 'Game DVR' in Settings as per the tutorial. No idea why- I don't have Xbox and don't use this.
But I do have the Captures section in Settings.

What path is shown on yours (red?) If it's to some Temp folder, change it there in Settings.

You can see where mine is set- to a folder in the Videos library.

If I right click the Captures folder- green- (as described in the tutorial) I see a Location tab - blue.

If yours is not similarly configured, I suggest you make the necessary change.

If you don't have one- create one.

I suggest you create a captures folder in Videos, and use the dialogue to point to it.
