Windows 10: Xbox one controller becoming unresponsive

I have an xbox one controller that's been giving me trouble 1708 wireless. When I connect it to my pc to play something on it, it frequently becomes unresponsive and will not accept any inputs whatever was held at the time it became responsive is continued until it becomes responsive again. The problem is severe enough that it's completely unusable, and it spend most of the time unresponsive. I have tried many things to fix the issue like updating the firmware, trying to use it on a different computer, and trying it in a different app but it still doesn't work. I'm guessing the problem is with bluetooth. However, when I had bluetooth settings and the Xbox accessories app side by side, when the controller became unresponsive it still showed up as connected on bluetooth settings. If anyone could help me out with this that would be great.

Can’t connect Xbox one controller to pc
