Windows 10: Xbox One Controller- Windows

Hello,

I just bought a brand new power A officially licensed wired controller for Xbox One and Windows 10 yes it is the advanced controller with buttons on the back. The instructions tell me to plug in the controller to the computer and it should work. I have done that but the computer does not recognize it. Yes, I have tried the power button. I have also tried the different USB ports on my computer but it still does not recognize it. It does not show up on device manager. I checked and my computer is completely up to date on windows. I checked the website to see if there are drivers I need to download, I could not find any. How can I get my controller to connect?

I am frustrated because I used to use an xbox 360 adapter but then they stopped support for the adapter. I bought the xbox one controller to play games and it does not work. Please help.

Can’t connect Xbox one controller to pc

Initially, we need to pair the device to show up in the list while connected through Bluetooth. Check with the below mentioned steps and see if it works.

Xbox One controller being recognized as a 360 Controller

Hi Stephan,

There are several reasons why your Xbox One controller is detected as an Xbox 360 controller by your PC. It is possible that the controller is not updated or if you previously used an Xbox 360 controller on the PC, it is still detecting its drivers instead
of the Xbox One controller drivers. To properly isolate your concern, please clarify the following information:

• Have you used an Xbox 360 controller on the same computer before?
• Does the error message occur on all of the games that you play?
• Have you tried to update the controller?
• Are you using an Xbox One Elite controller?
