Windows 10: Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring 1810 System Update 180916-1920 - Sept. 19

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring will begin receiving the latest 1810 Xbox One system update (180916-1920). Read on for more about the fixes and known issues in the latest 1810 system update.

Fixes:

Audio

Fixes to the audio stream to fix microphones not working when plugging in or unplugging a chatpad.

System

System Memory and Performance fixes in this build.

Localization fixes in this build.

Known Issues:

Avatars

It can take up to 10 seconds to view an Avatar on the profile screen after creating a new Avatar.

My Games & Apps

We are aware that some users are experiencing crashing of a game or the Youtube app when you are either launching or resuming the Youtube app.

If you are in the Youtube app and then Resume to a Game the app/game and console may hang or crash.

Power

We are tracking an issue in which the console is fully powering off when it is placed into Instant On mode.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Virtual Keyboard

We are aware that special characters appear incorrectly when using the Virtual Keyboard.

We are aware that the recently used emoji’s/characters are not present when you launch the VK again.

Xbox One Preview Alpha & Skip System Update 1810.180801-1920 - Aug. 4

Important Build Notes

Avatars

We’ve received feedback that the integration of Avatars on console has been a bit confusing due to the use of phrases like “Avatars on Home” and “Avatars on Dashboard,” so we wanted to clear up a few things. Currently, Avatars are visible to Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha Rings in the following places: the Avatar Editor, activity feed, leaderboards, and the Profile.

Fixes:

Settings

Stability fixes to address failures with various console sound settings of PCM, Dolby Atmos and DTS.

System Performance

Various Performance and bug fixes.

Known Issues:

Audio

We are aware that some users with HDMI audio are hearing no audio at all and working to resolve ASAP. This build allows us to gather more data to help diagnose the issue.

Avatars

It can take up to 10 seconds to view an Avatar on the profile screen the first time after your console has flashed.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge crashes for some users at random times.

The cursor may disappear when exiting and re-entering the app

-> Workaround: Press Y when re-entering the app to make the cursor re-appear

Oneguide

Sometimes users may encounter stuttering when launching straight into Oneguide after the console is turned on from Instant on. Please file feedback when you see this.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Xbox One Preview Alpha & Skip System Update 1810.180708-1920 - July 11

Starting at 6:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1810.180708-1920). Learn more about the new features in development for 1810 here, and read on for a list of known issues in this 1810 system update.

Known Issues

Headsets

We are tracking an issue with various headsets and mics not working in the build such as Turtle Beach wireless headsets. Connecting multiple headsets along with more than one input device on the system (physical controllers, game streaming controllers, wireless headsets), will cause headsets to no longer work.

Workaround: Disconnect all input and audio devices, including controllers, wired and wireless headsets, and game streaming controllers. Once they have been disconnected, connect only one controller and one headset.

Virtual Keyboard

We are tracking an issue where users are reporting that various keys & controller shortcuts for the virtual keyboard are not being recognized. Certain keys (spacebar, @ symbol, – symbol) are not registering when being pressed on the keyboard (both the virtual keyboard and via a USB keyboard)

Settings

We are tracking an issue with users not being able to select/change options under Device power options in Device Control. When users are attempting to change their power toggle settings, no options are being presented.

Game Pass Tab

Preview Alpha – Skip Ahead users will notice that the Entertainment tab has been replaced on the dashboard with Game Pass content. This new tab allows for easy access to the Game Pass catalog and is only available in the US region at this time, so Preview Alpha Skip Ahead Insiders in regions outside of the US will continue to see the Entertainment tab.

Groups

You may see issues with Groups if you frequently switch between your non-Preview console and your Preview console.

Workaround: Reset your Groups locally on the Preview console through “My games & apps” > Groups, then using the “Delete all groups” button at the bottom of the page to resync from the service.

Workaround: Press Y when re-entering the app to make the cursor re-appear

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Networking

When the console wakes from Instant on/connected standby with a wired connection, the console may not recognize that the Ethernet cable is plugged in.

Workaround: Please reboot the console via Guide -> reboot.

Various localization fixes.

Known Issues:

Audio

We are aware that some users are experiencing issues where mics do not work. Please ensure that your controller is running the latest Firmware (Settings – Kinect & Devices – Devices & Accessories) and make sure game volume is not muted. Be sure to file feedback using the “Report a problem” tool when you experience this issue.

Avatars

We are aware that, in some instances, Avatar limbs (feet & hands) are pointing in unexpected directions and facial hair is appearing where it should not. Please file feedback should you experience this.

It can take up to 10 seconds to view an Avatar on the profile screen after creating a new Avatar.

My Games & Apps

EA Access App – We are aware that the EA Access app will crash when navigating in the app and become unresponsive.

Shudder App – We are aware that the Shudder app may become unresponsive.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge crashes for some users at random times.

The cursor may disappear when exiting and re-entering the app.

Workaround: Press Y when re-entering the app to make the cursor re-appear

OneGuide

Sometimes users may encounter stuttering when launching straight into Oneguide after the console is turned on from Instant on. Please file feedback when you see this.

Workaround: If you have a Kinect sensor connected to the console, try disabling it by going to Settings>Kinect & devices>Kinect and toggling the Kinect sensor off. Then re-launch OneGuide.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Virtual Keyboard

We are aware that some characters appear incorrectly when using the Virtual Keyboard in conjunction with a chatpad.

Workaround: Disconnect the chatpad.
