Windows 10: Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead System Update 181217.2000 - Dec. 19

Starting at 4:00 pm PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Skip Ahead will begin receiving the latest 1904 Xbox One system update (rs_xbox_dev_flight.181217.2000). Read on for more about the latest and greatest fixes and known issues in this 1904 system update. This build has the same features as newest 1811 and fixes in 1902 plus more to be announced over the coming months!

Fixes:

Console

Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the console to crash unexpectedly.

Dashboard

Fixed an issue where the dashboard tiles may appear blanks sometimes.

Cortana

Fixed an issue where Cortana sometimes does not respond to commands

Known Issues:

Audio

We are tracking audio issues in which some games have audio that cuts in and out

Audio settings reverting to a previous settings after taking an update. Workaround is to please turn on your Audio Receiver prior to turning your Xbox One and the settings will not revert.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Xbox One Preview Alpha Skip Ahead System Update 181017.1900 - Oct. 19

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Skip Ahead will begin receiving the latest 19H1 Xbox One system update (rs_xbox_dev_flight.181017.1900). We are tracking an issue in which the console is fully powering off when it is placed into Instant On mode.

Xbox One Preview Alpha & Skip System Update 1810.180716-1911 - July 19

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha – Skip Ahead and Preview Alpha rings will begin receiving the latest Xbox One system update (1810.180716-1911). Network

Fixed various network performance issues

Fixed various performance and bug fixes

Headsets

Fixed an issue with various headsets and microphones not being recognized

Virtual Keyboard

Fixed an issue where users were unable to input text via Media Remotes using the on screen keyboard

Known Issues

Avatars

Gamerpics may appear on certain places throughout the dashboard instead of Avatars.

Backgrounds

We are tracking an issue where custom background images or achievement art are not being displayed on the dashboard when starting the console. The background image is not loading for the user when signing into their profile.

Workaround: Refresh the dashboard.

Virtual Keyboard

We are tracking an issue where users are reporting that various keys & controller shortcuts for the virtual keyboard are not being recognized. Certain keys (spacebar, @ symbol, – symbol) are not registering when being pressed on the keyboard (both the virtual keyboard and via a USB keyboard)

Settings

We are tracking an issue with users not being able to select/change options under Device power options in Device Control.

Game Pass Tab

Preview Alpha – Skip Ahead users will notice that the Entertainment tab has been replaced on the dashboard with Game Pass content. This new tab allows for easy access to the Game Pass catalog and is only available in the US region at this time, so Preview Alpha Skip Ahead Insiders in regions outside of the US will continue to see the Entertainment tab.

Groups

You may see issues with Groups if you frequently switch between your non-Preview console and your Preview console.

Workaround: Reset your Groups locally on the Preview console through “My games & apps” > Groups, then using the “Delete all groups” button at the bottom of the page to resync from the service.

Microsoft Edge

The cursor may disappear when exiting and re-entering the app

Workaround: Press Y when re-entering the app to make the cursor re-appea

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter an incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Networking

When the console wakes from Instant on/connected standby with a wired connection, the console may not recognize that the Ethernet cable is plugged in.

Workaround: Please reboot the console via Guide > reboot

Known Issues:

Audio

We are aware that some users are experiencing issues where mics do not work. Please ensure that your controller is running the latest Firmware (Settings – Kinect & Devices – Devices & Accessories) and be sure to file feedback using the “Report a problem” tool when you experience this issue.

Avatars

It can take up to 10 seconds to view an Avatar on the profile screen after creating a new Avatar.

My Games & Apps

We are aware that some users are experiencing crashing of a game or the Youtube app when you are either launching or resuming the Youtube app.

If you are in the Youtube app and then Resume to a Game the app/game and console may hang or crash.

Power

We are tracking an issue in which the console is fully powering off when it is placed into Instant On mode.

Profile Color

Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

Virtual Keyboard

We are aware that special characters appear incorrectly when using the Virtual Keyboard.

We are aware that the recently used emoji’s/characters are not present when you launch the VK again.

We are aware that predictive text is not working correctly when using the Virtual Keyboard
