Windows 10: Xbox One won't pair with Bluetooth Adapter

I have Bluetooth 4.0 nano USB dongle by Tp-link since my new pc does not have built-in Bluetooth and I am trying to pair it with my Xbox one controller.

The Xbox One controller is the correct model that has Bluetooth capabilities. The only way I can get the adapter to recognize the controller is on the first run of the discovery mode (after the first run of it, it will not recognize that ANY Bluetooth devices around until I restart the computer). When I try to pair the controller with the adapter it says "no pairing response received" and again, I cannot try to pair it again until AFTER a restart.

Can anyone help me? I can send pics of what's going on if it will help, I am at my wit's end trying to figure this out because I have no idea why this is not working or if it's hardware related since this adapter is brand new off of Amazon.

Promate Bluetooth™ 4.0 USB Adapter !

Hello Everyone

I have just bought the above mentioned bluetooth adapter but unfortunately cant manage to connect my bluetooth headset with it (does not find the device in pairing mode, keeps searching)! I have downloaded and installed the latest driver for this device from the promate website. Any suggestions?

Trouble pairing Xbox One controller to Bluetooth.

Had a feeling this was the case, turns out my mobo doesn't have Bluetooth onboard so will need a Bluetooth dongle or the official Xbox One wireless adapter.
