Windows 10: XBOX wireless adapter stopped wworking.

My Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows works on my Win 10 surface but not my Win 10 laptop. On the laptop, the Xbox One headset and adapter both flash and if I try using the sync button never are able to connect. But it connects fine on the surface. Is there any troubleshooting advice to get the adapter to connect to my laptop?I have tried:Using a different USB port on my laptop. many timesDeactivating/re-activating the adapter in Device Manager. 15 timesUninstalling/re-installing the adapter in Device Manager I deleted the driver and reinstalled it. 10 timesUninstalling the adapter and de
