Windows 10: Xbox Wireless Adaptor for Windows 10 no longer working after Windows Updates

Hi, since installing all of the latest Windows Updates to 2004 my Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 no longer works. it isn't detected in the Device Manager and the sync light doesn't come on when I press the button. It literally doesn't detect the device being connected at all not even under the wrong name in Device Manager


I tried uninstalling the previous windows updates and for a short while uninstalling KB4576478 resolved the issue. But after another reboot without KB4576478 re-installing it has again stopped working


I tried on another PC and it again worked fine until KB4576478 installed. I uninstalled the update, rebooted, the adapter worked fine. but then stopped working again the next day again KB4576478 has not reinstalled


Any advice?

XBOX wireless adaptor not working anymore

i have 2 xbox wireless adaptors that were both working for my 2 wireless controllers but hasnt been working the last 2 weeks. it doesnt come up on device manager and the adaptors dont even light up anymore even when i press button on the device

Hi,

You will be asked for a PIN when connecting your wireless Xbox One controller via Bluetooth on Windows 10 if your Bluetooth drivers are not updated. It is also possible that you have to reset the controller to remove the PIN. To resolve your concern, restart
your controller by following the steps below:

• Power off the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the controller for 6 seconds.
• Press the Xbox button again to power it back on.
• Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller to your PC using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
