  1. Xmark Extension for Edge

Now that Edge has extensions, I wanted to give it a new try. I sync my bookmarks with Xmarks (between IE and chrome so far).

I installed the xmark Extension, but it looks like it is not an extension to Edge, but a win app (I can see my bookmarks in that app, but not in Edge). In the Extensions (in Edge settings) xmark doesn't up as an extension. Other extensions I installed (i.e. Adblock) show up in the list.

when installing it also didn't ask me if i wanted to use it in Edge (Like Adblock did).

Am I doing it wrong, or is the Xmark app not a real Edge extension yet?

I need to sync my bookmarks between home and work and at work i only have Xmark (W7 IE11), so if Xmark doesn't work in Edge, it is of no use to me.

    :)

  2. Microsoft Edge Favorites not syncing correctly

My reason to not use Edge is the favorites. Let Xmark in and they will fix it!

Where do I find Edge Favourites?

    Original title: Edge Favourites

Where are Edge favourites/bookmarks stored? I need to sync with XMarks and they are not the same as Internet Explorer favourites.

    Xmark Extension for Edge

Hello, as you'll find from a web search, Edge only supports a very limited set of extensions which are available from the Store.

However, I don't find that the store opens with a list of Edge extensions as described.

You will be better advised to use a different browser such as Firefox. IE is, of course, also available.

I don't think Extensions for Microsoft Edge have properly launched yet, that's why there are only 13 listed in Windows Store at the moment and no new ones.

A couple of days ago Microsoft released an "Edge Extension Toolkit" to the Windows Store, that will allow developers to convert their existing Chrome Extensions to run on Microsoft Edge, but looking in the store it doesn't look like it's possible to download it yet and from what I can gather only internal Microsoft accounts can download it for now.

Give it time and Extensions will start rolling out, they just haven't yet.

That's odd, I'm not sure why you aren't seeing them. If you go to the THIS LINK, and then click where it says "visit the extensions collection page in the Windows Store", it should take you directly to the Edge Extensions section in the Windows Store. Are you not able to see the 13 Extensions there?

No, just a lot of empty white space in the store window below the header.
Same if I start from the Edge Extensions menu.

If I launch Store normally it's ok.

Might it be because Edge isn't my default browser? If so, nice one, MS.

OK, thanks. got it... there are only 13 extensions so far and xmark is not one of them. i had just searched for xmark, and installed the desktop app, which doesn't do anything for edge.

Hi, guys! I've just found the solution how to use xmarks with Edge through Internet Explorer! You just install xmarks for IE and enable Edge policy to keep Favorites in sync with IE (their bookmarks will be always the same). To access the policy in Windows 10 press Win+R, type gpedit.msc and press OK. In Local Group Policy Editor navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Microsoft Edge and enable Keep favorites in sync between Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. That's all, now sing out current PC user and sign in again to take effect.
